Border guards patrolling the area contacted the police immediately after finding the man’s body.

“At present, investigative and identification activities are being carried out by police officers under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office,” said Tomasz Krupa, spokesman for the Podlasie police.

He added that so far the police have not found any documents on the man, so it is difficult to determine who he was and how he ended up in the wooded area.

The police and prosecutor’s office are handling the case.

The other day, rescuers pulled out the body of a 19-year-old migrant from Syria from the river Bug. The circumstances of the young man’s death are now under investigation. On October 14th, Polish border guards announced that they had found the body of a 24-year-old Syrian in the border zone in the territory, where the state of emergency was declared.
