The suspects, lawyers, the prosecutor, judges, and jurors were present at the meeting. The prosecutor showed the cars and explained the consequences of the explosion. Journalists were not allowed to the meeting.

Pavel Sheremet was killed on the morning of July 20, 2016, on his way to work by a bomb planted in the car belonging to the editor of Ukrainska Pravda, Olena Prytula, Pavel’s partner. She was not in the car at the time of the explosion.

Five years have passed since the murder of the journalist in Kyiv, but so far the Ukrainian special services involved in the investigation have not found the organizers of the crime. Also in Ukraine, there is still no consensus about the motives. According to the latest information, the authorities of Belarus, which Sheremet strongly criticized, may have been involved in the crime.
