The prosecutor’s office of Hrodna region has decided to restrict access to the popular Internet portal Hrodna.Life.
The editorial office received an order signed by Acting Regional Prosecutor Eduard Burak; it was also sent to the Ministry of Communications and Informatisation on September 16. The document reads that the prosecutor’s office demands to restrict access to the website.
At the moment, one can still open hrodna.life from the territory of Belarus.
In late August, a Hrodna court ruled to liquidate Hrodna Life Media LTD by November 30. According to assistant prosecutor Viktar Kazak, the organisation ‘conducts activities prohibited by law’, and therefore, it can be liquidated. Judge Maryna Roslik heard the case without Hrodna Life founders.
