Seven years in jail for star in colours of Ukrainian flag

Vandalism charges against four people who painted the star on a landmark Moscow skyscraper in the national colours of Ukraine have been changed to hooliganism, a police spokesman said on Thursday.

The suspects, two men and two women, painted the star and also attached a yellow and blue Ukrainian flag on the spire of the 176-meter building on Kotelnicheskaya embankment in downtown Moscow in the early hours of Wednesday.

They denied the accusation but could face up to seven years in prison if convicted.
