Russia wants to move military manufacturing from Ukraine to Belarus

Due to the conflict in Ukraine Russia is seeking other ways of manufacturing thousands of names of components.

As any military and technical cooperation with Russia is outlawed, the Kremlin turns its regard on our country: the Belarusian Committee for military industry has already received the corresponding offers.

‘We do not rule out that Baranavich and Orsha aircraft plants’ utilisation rates will be increased because of this [situation in Ukraine – Belsat],’ Alexander Surikov, Russian ambassador to Belarus, told news agency RIA-Novosti.

Russian military-industrial firms used to actively cooperate with Ukrainian manufacturers which produce helicopter engines, gas turbine systems, etc. In mid June Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko imposed a ban on military and technical cooperation with Russia.
