One of the defendants in the case, chairman of the BPF Ryhor Kastusiou, recently wrote to his family about the extension of the investigation into the “coup d’état case” until October reports Radio Liberty.

“On June 11, I was handed a decision of the Prosecutor General’s Office to extend the investigation for another four months, until October 12, 2021,” wrote Kastusiou.

The preventive measure was left unchanged: he remains in custody.

“I do not know what they want, because I will be in jail. They are afraid that I will run abroad, or influence the course of the investigation. It’s absurd. I don’t know what they want to change, because I don’t admit guilt of conspiracy. I did not give an interview to BT,” writes the politician.

In addition to Kastusiou, the defendants in the “conspiracy to seize power unconstitutionally” are Alyaksandr Fyaduta, Yury Ziankovich, and six other people.
