The body of a 39-year-old woman, an Iraqi citizen, was found in the area of the Belarusian-Polish border near Augustouski Canal, reports the Investigative Committee of Belarus in its Telegram channel. Meanwhile, the Polish Border Guard Service reported about the bodies of three people found in the border area.

The Investigative Committee reports that the woman was found without shoes. After the initial examination of the body, the investigation does not rule out the possibility of death from hypothermia. According to the State Border Committee, there were three children near the dead woman, a man, and an elderly woman. They are all Iraqi citizens.
Investigators and forensic experts are working at the scene. The State Border Committee also notified and invited representatives of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Belarus and the International Organization for Migration to the accident site.
The Polish Border Guard Service reported that the bodies of three people had been found in the border area. The case will be further investigated by the prosecutor’s office.
