Three Polish commanders dismissed after soldier escapes to Belarus


Ministry of Defense of Poland has announced that three commanders had been dismissed because of the escape of the Polish soldier to Belarus.

According to the ministry’s Twitter account, following the report of General Radomski to Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak, a battery commander, a platoon commander and a commander of a division in Węgorzewo were dismissed.

Representatives of Lukashenka‘s regime claim that Polish soldier Emil Czeczko had asked for political asylum in Belarus, allegedly in protest against Poland’s policy toward migration crisis and mistreatment of refugees.

The Polish side confirmed the fact of the missing soldier of the 11th Artillery Regiment. Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said that the missing soldier had problems with the law.
