International Secretary of Belarusian Social Democratic Party detained in Hrodna

Valyantsin Askirka, teacher, international secretary of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada), was detained during a lesson in a private school in Hrodna, chairman of the party Ihar Barysau reported on Facebook.

In January, Valyantsin Askirka was questioned by the Investigative Committee as a witness in a criminal case. Then he had to sign a non-disclosure pledge.

Also, after the presidential election, Valyantsin received two warnings and was fired from Hrodna State University, named after Yanka Kupala, where he had been working for over 20 years.
