Belarus cancels visa-free regime for U.S. and Albania citizens

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has amended the list of countries whose citizens can enter Belarus for up to 30 days without a visa. It was done by a decree. Previously, there were 74 countries on the list, but now there are 76, zerkalo.io reports.

The Belarusian visa-free regime also applies to the citizens of Iran, Jordan, South Africa, Pakistan, and Egypt (but only if they have a valid visa to the EU or Schengen countries and the return plane tickets from Belarus).

The list of states no longer has the United States and Albania. Also, China is no longer on the list. However, this is a technical solution — there is a bilateral agreement on a mutual visa-free regime for holders of ordinary passports between Belarus and China.

The decree comes into force on 17 October.
