In Luninets, a drunken man threw his female friend’s child out the window. For this, he was given two years of freedom restriction and a fine, reports “Vyacherni Brest.”

In May, the incident occurred when a resident of Luninets asked a 44-year-old friend to look after her four-year-old son. She brought the child to the man’s house. The man was drunk. When the mother left, the man could not calm the boy and threw him from the second-floor balcony. The child was found by the neighbors, who called an ambulance and police. The boy survived.

The court found the man guilty under part 2 of article 149 (Intentional infliction of less serious injury) and sentenced him to two years of freedom restriction and a fine.

It should be noted that “political” convicts in Belarus receive much longer sentences for a much smaller offense. Maksim Pauliushchyk was sentenced to two years in a general regime colony for the inscription he left near the Pushkinskaya metro station. He wrote, “We will not forget, we will not forgive,” right on the site of Alyaksandr Taraikouski‘s murder. And Uladzislau Hulis was sentenced to 2 years in a strict regime penal colony for a similar “crime.”
