In the middle of January, the police detained six women in the woods: Lyudmila Valadkevich, Tamara Ilyina, Lyudmila Kaminskaya, Alena Kasnova, Raisa Kukhta, and Tatsyana Sevyarynets when they went out to practice Nordic walking.

The police considered it an unauthorized event.

They were kept at the police station for eight hours without food and medicine. Then all of them, except for Tatsyana Sevyarynets, were sent to the temporary detention center for the night.

As a result, the court dismissed the cases, and the women filed summonses for illegal actions of the police officers – detention and placement in the TDF. Judge of Pershamaiski District Court of Vitsebsk Zhanna Vasilyeva dismissed all 6 appeals and ordered the Vitsebsk women to pay court costs – 4 rubles 85 kopecks each.

Six of the women disagreed with this decision and filed appeals to the regional court, but it gave no result either, as the court considered that the civil case was outside its competence.
