Number of Ukrainian refugees exceeds 3 mln


Since February 24, the day Russia attacked Ukraine, more than 3 million people have left the country. Most of the refugees go to Poland and westward, but some also move to the aggressor country, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees reports.

The number and destinations of refugees from Ukraine as of March 15, 2022:

  • Poland – 1,857,045 people
  • Romania – 467,703 people
  • Moldova – 344 454 people
  • Hungary – 272 943 people
  • Slovakia – 220 977 people
  • Russia – 155 841 persons
  • Belarus – 1,816 people

Earlier, it was reported that the number of internally displaced persons exceeded 2 million. People mostly move to western Ukraine from the eastern regions where active hostilities are taking place.
