“Today, the Russian Federation is developing a special operation on the territory of Belarus. They have a great desire today to dress the Belarusian military in the uniform of the Russian Federation. Some Belarusians refuse to fight against our country. But now the Russian Federal Security Service and special services are persuading the Belarusians to change into the Russian uniforms and to enter our territory under the Russian standards, so to speak,” he said.
Oleksiy Danilov says that the Belarusians will get a rebuff, “which the Russians and the Chechens are already getting.”
The British research center Chatham House claims that most Belarusians do not support the possible participation of the Belarusian army in the war against Ukraine on the side of Russia.
Only 3% of the respondents spoke in favor of the participation of the Belarusian military.
Meanwhile, in Ukraine, the formation of the Belarusian battalion named after Kastus Kalinouski, which helps Ukrainians defend themselves against Russian aggression, continues. According to representatives of the battalion, it already has hundreds of Belarusians, and new ones are arriving daily, while several hundred more are already on their way to Ukraine from the center in Warsaw.
Overall, more than a thousand people have already signed up in person or applied online to join the battalion.
