The former head of anesthesiology and resuscitation department of Vitsebsk hospital, Uladzimir Martau has responded to Alyaksandr Lukashenka on his Facebook, speaking about the shortage of oxygen at the hospital.

During his visit to Maladzechna hospital on March 12, Alyaksandr Lukashenka asked Healthcare Minister Dzmitry Pinevich about the incident. Pinevich answered that there were “some disruptions”.

“If it’s political, you need to put a man in his place,” said Lukashenka.

“We will,” promised Pinevich.

“We can’t concern ourselves with politics now. We must stop such things. If there really is a problem, it must be solved,” Lukashenka continued.

Uladzimir Martau did not leave these words unanswered.

“The supply of oxygen does not depend on whether the head of the intensive care unit is an opposition activist or not. Why politicize the issue? This is what it is about: “Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel…,” Martau wrote.

In early March, Martau was refused an extension of his labor contract because he spoke openly about the problems of the pandemic and the situation in the country. After his dismissal, the doctor spoke about the incident with the interruption of the hospital oxygen supply.
