Ukrainian President Zelensky invites US President Biden to visit Ukraine in the coming days


During a recent telephone conversation, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky invited U.S. President Joe Biden to visit Ukraine in the coming days, the press service of the Ukrainian President reports.

Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that the Ukrainian side understands all the risks and is ready for any development of the situation:

“I am convinced that your arrival in Kyiv in the coming days, crucial for the stabilization of the situation, will be a powerful signal and will contribute to de-escalation.”

Zelensky also said that Ukraine is not yet a NATO member, so “only a strong Ukrainian army is a guarantee of state security”.

The phone conversation between Biden and Zelensky took place on Sunday night and lasted about an hour. The leaders reportedly discussed the situation around Ukraine. They exchanged available information and discussed ways of de-escalation and sanctions in case of Russian aggression.
