Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya has spoken at the European Forum at Wachau upon the personal invitation of Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz.
During the forum, Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya addressed the participants with the words: “The regime is turning our country into a prison camp,” and called upon the world leaders to support the repressed Belarusians and their families, independent media and human rights activists, as well as to investigate the regime crimes and strengthen its economic isolation.
The Belarusian leader also proposed developing a common plan of assistance to the EU, developing national plans to support a democratic Belarus, and holding a conference on solving the crisis in Belarus during the G7 and the Eastern Partnership summit.
Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya said that it is necessary to prevent the trade of political prisoners and remember that the crisis can only be solved by holding new fair elections.
Besides speaking at the forum on 12 June, Tsikhanouskaya met with the Belarusian diaspora in Berlin.
During the concert and rally, organized by the diaspora, Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Tatsyana Khomich received passports of a free Belarus from the hands of Ambassador of the alternative embassy Taras Syakerka. Tatsiana Khomich also received a passport for Maryia Kalesnikava, who is now in detention.
Artist Dzmitry Chartkou prepared an installation with an airplane and a toilet in the shape of Lukashenka’s head.
Artist Valeryia gave Tatsyana Khomich a portrait of her sister Maryia Kalesnikava, made in the Tayport technique.
