Human rights activists recognized Tatsyana Hatsura-Yavorskaya as political prisoner


Human rights activist and head of the public association “Zvyano” Tatsyana Hatsura-Yavorskaya has been recognized as a political prisoner. The relevant joint statement was made by the human rights organizations of Belarus.

Tatsyana Hatsura-Yavorskaya was detained on April 5. The law-enforcers searched the apartment of the human rights activist and the head of the public association “Zvyano”. Tatsyana and four other people involved in the exhibition “The machine is breathing, but I am not”, dedicated to the Belarusian doctors, were placed in the temporary detention facility on Akrestsin Street.

The detainees were convicted in the TDF under the article of disobedience to order or demand of law enforcers. Tatsyana was sentenced to a fine of 50 basic units (1,450 rubles).

Now Tatsyana is kept in the detention center on Valadarski street in Minsk. Human rights activists have declared her a political prisoner.

Representatives of Belarusian human rights organizations demand the immediate release and rehabilitation of all political prisoners in the country.
