Roof falls at Charnobyl nuclear power plant


“The partial fall of the wall slabs and roof of the Unit 4 Turbine Hall occurred at 14.03 on February 12, 2013, the web site of Charnobyl nuclear power plant reports. There were no injuries.

The area of damage reaches 600m2 but according to the official information it has not affected the radiation background onsite; as for Shelter, it was not damaged.

Charnobyl nuclear power plant stopped its operating on December 5, 2000.
