Germany to investigate illegal migration from Belarus

German Interior Ministry has confirmed that they had launched an investigation into the crossing of the Polish-German border by the migrants. The details of the investigation have not yet been made public, TASS reports.

German authorities are investigating the alleged organizers of the migration crisis in the east of the EU. The country’s Interior Ministry has not yet made the details of the investigation public.

“In connection with the cases of illegal crossing of the German-Polish border, the federal police, in addition to measures to prevent it, are taking criminal prosecution measures. Within Germany, the investigation is directed, among other things, against the possible organizers and those behind it,” said a representative of the Interior Ministry.

Earlier, the “Bild am Sonntag” newspaper reported that German authorities suspect Alyaksandr Lukashenka of being behind the migration crisis. According to the newspaper, Lukashenka is trying to blackmail the EU demanding that the sanctions be lifted. He is doing that by migrant smuggling organized by the state. “Bild am Sonntag” reports that German authorities now view Lukashenka as a smuggler.
