Telegram has deleted or blocked the channel “GUBOP,” associated with the Main Department for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption in Belarus (GUBOPiK).
The Telegram channel published personal data of Belarusians who disagreed with the Belarusian regime videos of interrogations. The majority of detainees in the video were beaten.
On January 22, pro-governmental Telegram channels received warnings from the administration of the messenger. The channels were threatened with blocking if they did not remove “messages degrading to a person based on their sexual orientation” within 36 hours.
Some of the scandalous publications were indeed removed.
