Political prisoner Eduard Palchys has been finally charged under four articles of the Criminal Code, human rights activists report.

Palchys is presumably charged under Part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code (“Organization of mass riots”), Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code (“Organization of actions that grossly violate public order”), Article 130 of the Criminal Code (“Incitement of social discord”) and Article 361 of the Criminal Code (“Calls for actions aimed at causing damage to the national security of the Republic of Belarus”).

It is unknown what precisely the blogger is accused of.

The emergence of final charges means that the criminal case against the political prisoner will soon be in court.

The fact that the blogger was a defendant in a criminal case emerged at the end of October last year when he was not released after 30 days of arrest. Back in June 2020, Palchys was punished twice for 15 days in absentia.
