Zhabinka district: Police raid place of local cultural figure Natallya Dyrman

On June 10, the police searched the house of 49-year-old Natallya Dyrman, a resident of the agro-town of Khmeleva (Zhabinka district).

The actress was detained; it is unknown what was the reason for the search.

Natallya Dyrman is a local celebrity, she is the founder of the folk and satirical group Khmeleva Vagabonds. The woman was recognised as Person of the Year in the field of culture in Brest region, she has many awards.

In 2020, Dyrman took part in the post-protests against the Lukashenka regime. In August, Natalia resigned from government work. In September, the mother of three was tried under Art. 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Code (‘violating the rules of organising or holding mass events’) and fined.

As reported earlier, mass detentions started in Zhabinka last month after ‘insulting’ inscriptions and portraits of Alyaksandr Lukashenka which appeared on the night of May 18 at one of the town dumps.
