Tsimanouskaya's medal to be exhibited at Free Belarus Museum

The medal of Belarusian athlete Krystsina Tsimanouskaya, which she recently sold at auction for $21,000, will be included in the Museum of Free Belarus exhibition, the Sports Solidarity Fund reports.

The silver medal of the Second European Games was bought by Evgeny, a resident of the USA. He moved from Kyiv to America 30 years ago.

“For Evgeny, buying a medal is an opportunity to express solidarity with Belarusians who have fallen under repression after the presidential election of 2020. Also, he believes that his action will inspire people to donate to organizations dedicated to helping affected Belarusians,” reports the Sports Solidarity Foundation.

Evgeny decided to give the medal to the Museum of Free Belarus. The agreement was reached during a personal conversation with Krystsina. The museum’s temporary exhibition will be organized in Poland with subsequent relocation of the exhibits in New Belarus, noted in the foundation.

Krystsina Tsimanouskaya says that this medal is very dear to her.

“I wanted to personally meet and talk to the person who, having bought it, decided to support all the repressed athletes and me. I’ll be honest, and I’m very impressed. And I would add that people, their openness, their willingness to help, their willingness to meet me halfway — that’s the most amazing thing I’ve come across lately.

I am glad that the medal will become a part of the Museum of Free Belarus exhibition and will not be far from me. And one day, we’ll go home together,” she said.
