On Tuesday, his case was heard in Frunzenski district court of the Belarusian capital city. Bubenka was involved in ‘unauthorised picketing by placing a white sheet of paper on window’, the prosecution said.

According to the defendant, he fixed children’s drawings on the window almost four years ago. The sheets of paper shielded his wife’s seedlings from the sun damage, Bubenka said. However, judge Natallya Buhuk stressed he should have got permission for from the city authorities.

As a result, judge Buhuk found Bubenka guilty and imposed a twelve-day jail term on him.
