On April 8, the first meeting of the ‘Razam’ party with local residents, planned by members of Viktar Babaryka’s headquarters, was to take place in Maladzechna, reports the Regional Newspaper outlet.

The meeting did not take place as planned because, as representatives of the headquarters explain, “there was a misunderstanding on the part of representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs”.

Before the meeting a member of the party group Maksim Bahratsou consulted with the leadership of the local police department and “failed to reach an understanding as to the status of our event this time”, said the representatives of the headquarters.

Volunteers started the meeting, to which about ten people came, but police officers of the Maladzechna police department turned up and said that the event was unauthorized and the participants were to disperse. No arrests were made.

“The work on the meetings in the cities of Belarus continues, the experience of Maladzechna will be taken into account in the preparation of the next meetings,” said the headquarters representatives.
