A Polish border guard officer was hospitalized with a head injury after migrants attempted to storm the Belarusian-Polish border yesterday, the Polish Border Guard Service reported on Twitter.
Foreigners reportedly stormed the border near Cheremcha and Szudziałowo, throwing firecrackers and rocks in the direction of Polish border guards. As a result, a Polish officer suffered a head injury and was hospitalized.
All in all, before 7 a.m., on January 9, Polish border guards detained 33 migrants, who had illegally tried to cross the border. On Saturday, January 8, there were 10 of them.
Poland imposed a state of emergency along the Belarusian border on September 2 because of the migration crisis. It is still in effect.
