EU diplomats meet with relatives of political prisoners in Minsk

Heads of EU diplomatic missions in Minsk have met with relatives of those killed during the peaceful post-election protests. The meeting was also attended by relatives of some political prisoners in Belarus, said the head of the EU mission in Belarus, Dirk Schuebel, on Facebook.

There is the International Day of Solidarity with Belarus celebrated on February 7 at the initiative of Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya. Citizens of our country, diplomats and human rights activists demand from the authorities to release political prisoners and punish those guilty of fraud, murder and violence.

“#WeStandWithBelarus on this Day of Solidarity and every day until all the political prisoners walk free and all the perpetrators have been held to account. Today in Minsk, heads of EU diplomatic missions were honoured and humbled to meet with family members of Belarusians who were killed when demonstrating peacefully in demand of their fundamental rights. Also present were family members of several of the Belarusian political prisoners,” head of the EU mission in Belarus Dirk Schuebel wrote on Facebook.
