Belarusian peacekeepers have been engaged in the protection of critical military facilities in Kazakhstan, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense reports.

As noted, the CSTO troops are not involved in operational and combat tasks to maintain law and order.

“Belarusian military continue to perform their tasks as planned. There are no abnormal situations,” said the agency.

The Belarusian military from the 103rd separate airborne brigade of Vitsebsk flew to Kazakhstan.

They were delivered from the airfield in Machulishchy near Minsk by five Russian military transport aircraft IL 76.

CSTO units in Nur-Sultan made it possible to free some Kazakhstani security forces and send them to Almaty, Kazakhstani President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said.
