The condition of 20-year-old Russian citizen Yegor Dudnikov, detained in Belarus, has deteriorated, reports his mother Yulia Dudnikova on the air of the TV channel “Dozhd.”

“Weather conditions plus the consequences of beatings during detention had an extremely negative impact on his health. He has constant headaches, a broken tooth that always hurts, and panic attacks,” she said.

According to Yulia Dudnikova, only her lawyer has access to her son. An application to the Investigative Committee of Belarus to transfer her son under house arrest remains unanswered.

Yegor Dudnikov was detained in Minsk on May 5. He was later charged with organizing actions that grossly violate public order. Allegedly, he was one of the administrators of the Telegram channel of the civil self-defense units of Belarus, voiced videos for it, and called for violence against security forces.

On July 2, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said that “sleeping terrorist cells” or “self-defense squads” had been uncovered in Belarus. He called a Russian citizen with the last name Dudnikova, the main moderator of their chat room. Yegor’s mother thinks that Lukashenka misspoke and meant her son.
