-This is Belsat’s first Golden Button, so we have every reason to be proud. Previously, we earned four Silver Play Buttons for surpassing one hundred thousand subscribers, and we will likely receive two more soon. This is because both our English-language channel and the cartoon channel each have over ninety thousand subscribers. However, we are aiming even higher. There are millions more viewers of the Russian channel within our reach, the Head of Belsat, Aliaksei Dzikavitski, believes.

Even though “Vot Tak” reached a million subscribers a year and a half ago, the Golden Play Button has only just arrived at the editorial office. During this time, the channel gained nearly another half million viewers. To receive such an award, it’s not enough to be extremely popular; you must also meet additional requirements from YouTube administrators:

Creator Awards are given at YouTube’s sole discretion and we only recognize creators that have played by the rules. Channels are subject to review before awards are issued. That means rewarding creators who keep their accounts in good standing without copyright strikes, community guideline violations, or artificially increased subscriber counts, among other criteria.

The “Vot Tak” project is run by Belsat TV and is aimed at audiences in Russia and other post-Soviet countries where Russian is still widely spoken. Since 2017, news programs under the “Vot Tak” brand have been available on air, and in 2019, the vot-tak.tv portal was launched along with its YouTube channel and profiles on popular social media. The international editorial team of “Vot Tak” currently prepares 2 hours and 10 minutes of premiere broadcasts daily.

“Vot Tak” is a highly popular independent media outlet in the post-Soviet space, with over half of its audience residing in the Russian Federation. In 2022, the Kremlin blocked the platform due to the alleged spread of false information about a “special military operation” in Ukraine. Furthermore, in 2024, it was listed as a “foreign agent” for acting against the interests of the state.

On YouTube, Belsat TV operates thirteen channels with a combined total of over three million subscriptions. The content is created in four different languages – Russian, Belarusian, English, and Polish.
