Lukashenka says he is afraid to attack Ukraine

On March 3, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said that if Belarusian troops started a war in Ukraine, the country would bare its borders. But Belarus has already provided its territory to Russian troops involved in an attack on Ukraine, including its capital, Kyiv.

“You see that they just want to push us into the war in Ukraine, on purpose. So that we would bare our other borders, and then they will deal with us promptly, we won’t even have time to return from Ukraine to protect you. This is a tactic. Their strategy is to deal with Russia and us, too, so they don’t have to start that war again, like in August 2020. What if they resist, hold out, etc. We have not only guessed their plans, but we also have enough information on that,” he said.

According to him, Belarusians do not want scandals and conflicts.

“I repeat: we know what they want. We are ready for it. We will fight and die for you on our soil. You cannot doubt that,” he said.

On March 1, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov admitted that, if necessary, a strike on the territory of Belarus could be carried out if President Volodymyr Zelensky decided to do so. This issue arose because Russia used the territory of Belarus to invade and shell Ukraine. Moreover, there is a threat of the Belarusian army attacking Ukraine.
