Lithuania stops BelAZ auto parts

Lithuanian customs officers have returned the parts manufactured by BelAZ, as the enterprise is on the EU blacklist. The Belarusian plant sent spare parts for BelAZ trucks weighing about 15 tons to Bosnia and Herzegovina through the territory of Lithuania.

At the Medininkai border crossing, Lithuanian customs officers did not let through the spare parts for BelAZ trucks bound for Bosnia and Herzegovina because the Belarusian automobile manufacturer BelAZ was included in the fourth package of the EU sanctions in June this year. The truck from Belarus carried almost 15 tons of spare parts worth over $214 thousand.

On September 7 this year, Lithuanian customs did not let through 18 containers of spare parts for BelAZ trucks bound for Chile. “Lithuanian customs service continues to apply the sanctions imposed by the European Union against Belarusian companies: the cargo of BelAZ joint-stock company was not allowed to be transported through the Klaipeda seaport,” said Lithuanian Customs.
