Syarhei Pavalishau, Director General of Belarus’ biggest hosting company hoster.by, has been released from the pre-trial detention centre, his colleagues say.

According to Pavalishau’s defence lawyer, the measure of restraint was changed, but he is still under investigation.

“We do not have any other details regarding the fact that the participants of the criminal proceedings remain under a non-disclosure agreement,” hoster.by reports.

Syarhei Pavalishau was detained on May 18 as part of the TUT.by case. On May 25, the Belarusian human rights community recognised him as a political prisoner.

A few days ago, it became known that on 1 January 2022 Belarusian Cloud Technologies (aka BeCloud) would take on the functions of the technical administrator of the national domain zone instead of hoster.by.
