Poland sends helicopter to patrol Belarusian-Lithuanian border


A Polish Border Guard Service helicopter, PZL Kania, has started patrolling the Lithuanian-Belarusian border, the Polish Border Guard Service reports.

The Polish Border Guard Service notified the Frontex agency that it was ready to support Lithuania by handing over the PZL Kania helicopter with the crew and technical personnel. On July 29, the first patrols of border guards left for Lithuania, and additional patrols will arrive there in September. In addition, the Border Guard is sending to Lithuania a PJN observation vehicle with a crew.

Also, in the coming weeks, Poland will send 40 people to Lithuania with equipment for border protection.

The entire Lithuanian support operation is carried out by the border and coast guard agency Frontex.
