Alyaksandr Lukashenka does not call Russia a ‘brotherly state’ anymore, he said at Monday’s meeting on current issues of cooperation with the Russian Federation.
“I do not say ‘brotherly nation’, because I was informed of Russia’s not being receptive to it. The say new people have come [to power] for whom this concept is unacceptable. Well, let’s be partners,” the presidential press service quotes Lukashenka.
According to him, Belarus is a key partner for Russia. The Belarusian leader stressed the importance of this cooperation.
“Many agreements were signed, including at the Supreme State Council, at the Council of Ministers of the Union State. Unfortunately, as I often say, not all of them are being put in practice,” Lukashenka added.
On December 25, Alyaksandr Lukashenka and Vladimir Putin are to hold talks in Moscow. The issues of tax maneuver compensation and further integration are on the agenda.
