On August 9, FC Dinamo Minsk won Zenit St Petersburg by four goals. The match was part of UEFA Europa League third qualifying round.
It was Dinamo’s players Uros Nikolic (twice), Uladzimir Khvashchynski and Nino Galovic who shot the goals.
Dinamo is the first Belarusian club that beat the Russian team in European competition. In turn, Zenith has suffered the biggest defeat since 1989.
Zenith is the richest club in Russia, its sponsor is Gazprom.
About 2,500 Russian fans arrived. Before the match, they marched through the city of Minsk.
