Belarus Interior Ministry set to buy unmanned aerial vehicles

On May 22, Belarus Interior Minister Ihar Shunevich announced intention to purchase unmanned aerial vehicles in the near future.

According to the minister, the agency should be able to counter  all current threats; UAVs will help to deal with operational challenges.

“Each regional Department of Internal Affairs should have one UAV, as it helps the police to solve a lot of tactical and practical tasks, e.g finding missing people and stolen vehicles,” Shunevich told channel Belarus 1.

He expects that the Interior Ministry will be able to purchase such equipment soon.

It is to be recalled that the Belarusian enterprise Agat produces ‘Grif’ unmanned aircraft systems.
