On the morning of April 27, the criminal case of the anarchist movement activist Vyachaslau Kasinerau was heard in Minsk. The young man was tried for performance with a statue of policeman on March 12, 2017.
On that day, the activists, among whom was Mr Kasinerau, put a noose around the neck of the policeman statue near the Interior Ministry building in Minsk.
Vyachaslau Kasinerau was charged with committing a crime under part 1 of article 339 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism). This way Mr Kasinerau protested against police abuse and harassment of anarchist activists for participating in peaceful protests.
The court ruled to punish Vyachaslau Kasinerau with a fine of 30 basic units, but since the convicted person had been in custody, the penalty was reduced to 5 base units which is approximately 60 USD.
