Belarus activists to protest against Russian TV propagandist’s show in Minsk

The opposition organization Young Front is calling on all the indifferent Belarusians to voice their critical attitude regarding Russian TV propagandist Vladimir Solovyov’s staging his show in the Palace of the Republic in Minsk.

The protest action is to start on Friday at 18:00.

“It is not the first time that Russian propagandists have arrived in Minsk. It is noteworthy that the people who say that Belarus is not an independent state but part of Russia or the ‘Russian world’ move freely within the territory of Belarus and hold their propaganda show in our best halls,” Young Front activists said on Facebook.

According to them, it is the well-known Belarusian cultural professionals who are often banned from giving public performances at a time when ‘one of the ideologists of Russian chauvinism’ is to speak in the Great Hall of the Palace of the Republic’.

“We believe that one should make a stand against the statements of the Russian propagandist Solovyov in order to prove that a significant part of Belarusian society opposes the Kremlin’s and Russian media’s propaganda of war and hatred. It is also important to prevent Russian Imperials from feeling at home in Belarus. They shouldknew that they are unwelcome guests in a foreign country,” activist Syarhei Palcheuski explains.
