Volleyball game in Turkey: Russians given middle finger


An unpleasant incident occurred during the volleyball game between Russian team Dinamo Krasnodar and Turkey’s Galatasaray, Russian volleyball player Tatiana Kosheleva said on Instagram.

“The fans of the Turkish team were misbehaving. They showed their hatred for us with the help of words and gestures. Those sitting in the stands were dropping litter on us. But what knocked me back on my heels was Galatasaray’s head showing hismiddle finger to me and the staff of our club,” the Russian athlete said.

The first leg of the final match of the 2016 CEV Volleyball Cup took place on March 29 in Istanbul. It ended 3-2 for the hosts. The re-match will now follow on Saturday, April 2 in Krasnodar.
