Providing relief to needy Belarusians: $363 mln to go to Lukashenka's reserve fund

The surplus of the national budget will be reduced by Br 8 trn ($ 363 million), presidential decree No 76 of 23 February 2016, reads.

The funds will be directed to the President’s reserve fund so that later they could be used to support needy Belarusians and socially disadvantaged groups, interfax.by reports.

The author of the decree recommends local Councils of Deputies to create reserve funds based on local budget allotment provided for subsidies for housing and communal services to the population.

Such reserve funds are expected to provide non-cash subsidies for the citizens whose wage or pension is too low to pay utility bills.
