Цяпер судзяць памерлага 9 гадоў таму Уладзіміра Катрука.
Гісторык і дэпутат Палаты прадстаўнікоў Ігар Марзалюк у інтэрв’ю тэлеканалу АНТ назваў прозвішча наступнага фігуранта судовага працэсу над нябожчыкамі.

Па крымінальнай справе аб генацыдзе беларускага народу будуць судзіць Сымона Серафіновіча.

«Серафіновіч, нацыянальна-свядомы дзеяч Вялікай Брытаніі пасля вайны, начальнік паліцыі Міра. Другі працэс пасля Катрука будзе над ім. Ён па вушы ў крыві», – сказаў Ігар Марзалюк.
Сымон Серафіновіч паходзіў з ваколіцаў Міра, нарадзіўся ў 1910 годзе, распавядае «Радыё Свабода». Улетку 1944 года далучыўся да 30 грэнадзёрскай дывізіі СС, здаўся ў палон амерыканцам і пайшоў добраахвотнікам у 2-гі Польскі корпус. Пасля вайны жыў у Лондане, удзельнічаў у дзейнасці беларускай дыяспары.
У 1990-х гадах супраць яго ў Вялікай Брытаніі была распачатая крымінальная справа за ваенныя злачынствы. Аднак яе спынілі з прычыны сталага веку і хваробы абвінавачанага.
У студзені 2024 года пра будучы працэс над ім выказваўся намеснік пракурора Гарадзенскай вобласці Андрэй Скурат:

«Мы ўстанавілі каля сямі эпізодаў учыненых ім злачынстваў. Гэта і масавыя забойствы людзей, і спаленне вёсак. У свой час ім спрабавала займацца нават ангельская паліцыя. Прыязджалі сюды, на гарадзенскую зямлю, знайшлі сведкаў. Але з нейкай прычыны Серафіновіча не прыцягнулі да крымінальнай адказнасці за злачынствы супраць чалавецтва».
Супрацоўнік пракуратуры паабяцаў сабраць доказы ягонай злачыннай дзейнасці і прадставіць суду для прызнання Серафіновіча вінаватым у генацыдзе беларускага народу.
8 лютага Вярхоўны суд Беларусі пачаў першы ў гісторыі краіны судовы працэс над нябожчыкам. Судзяць памерлага 9 гадоў таму Уладзіміра Катрука, абвінавачанага ў забойстве жыхароў Хатыні.
Уладзімір Катрук служыў у калабарацыйным фармаванні дапаможнай ахоўнай паліцыі нацысцкай Нямеччыны. У складзе падраздзялення былі ўкраінцы, беларусы, расейцы. Гэтае фармаванне ўдзельнічала ў знішчэнні вёскі Хатыні і яе жыхароў. Пасля вайны Катрук эміграваў у Канаду, там на падставе фальшывых дакументаў атрымаў грамадзянства. Памёр у 2015 годзе.
Два з паловай гады таму Генпракуратура пачала расследаванне крымінальнай справы аб генацыдзе беларускага народу ў гады Другой сусветнай вайны. У 2023 годзе ў Беларусі змянілі Крымінальна-працэсуальны кодэкс, дазволіўшы заводзіць крымінальныя справы на памерлых і судзіць іх за злачынствы, што не маюць тэрміну даўнасці. Такім злачынствам лічыцца і генацыд.
Гісторык Сяржук Кедышка, каментуючы суд над нябожчыкам, адзначыў: «З тым, што спаленне Хатыні – ваеннае злачынства, ніхто не спрачаецца». Аднак, на ягоную думку, сапраўдная мэта працэсу – не пакаранне забойцы.
