The results of the annual Free Word competition organised by the Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ) have been announced today, on the 14th anniversary of Belsat.

Journalist Iryna Slaunikava was transferred from the infamous detention facility on Akrestsin Street to pre-trial detention centre Nr 1 on Valadarski Street in Minsk. The family managed to hand over a parcel with food and essentials to her, the Belarusian Association of Journalists reports.

On Monday, Maskouski district cou of Minsk considered a case against TUT/BY journalist Lyubou Kaspyarovich. She was found guilty of unauthorised picketing (Article 24.23 of the Code of Administrative Offences), the Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ) reports.

Trial of detainees near the Mahiliou Regional Court

Journalist Katsyaryna Barysevich was transferred from the Zhodzina prison, Tut.by reports. Notably, she was carried over one week prior to her release; the imprisonment is to exprire on May 19.

The third day of trial of Belsat TV journalist Katsyaryna Andreyeva and camerawoman Darya Chultsova has started in Frunzenski district court of Minsk.

On February 16, the case of Belsat TV journalist Katsyaryna Andreyeva and camerawoman Darya Chultsova  continued to be heard in Frunzenski district court of Minsk. The judge is Natallya Buhuk.

The hearing of the Leninski District Court of Minsk was adjourned.
