He “publicly insulted an employee of the Minsk city prosecutor’s office”

On August 19, Hrodna-based blogger Vadzim Yermashuk aka Vadimati was sentenced to 25 days in jail today for allegedly calling for taking part in an unofficial sports event at a skate playground in the town of Shchuchyn.

The blogger remains behind bars for 300 days

On April 14, Kastrychnitski district court of Mahilou completed hearing the case of Syarhei Pyatrukhin and Alyaksandr Kabanau, two bloggers and activists from the city of Brest.

Detentions continue in Belarus.

On Friday, Minsk City Court passed the verdict in the case of popular Belarusian vlogger Pavel Spiryn, finding him guilty and imposing a 4.5-year prison term on him.

On December 16, unknown individuals wearing masks stopped a taxi which was carrying Mahiliou-based activist and blogger Andrey Bodzileu to his work.

Syarhei Tsikhanouski, a Belarusian blogger and husband of opposition leader Svyatlana Tsikhanouskaya, has faced another accusation shortly before the end of the detention period on previous charges.

On November 6, well-known Belarusian blogger Eduard Palchys was officially accused of organising mass riots (Art. 293-1 of the Criminal Code), human rights centre Viasna reports.

All in all, he was to spend 45 days behind bars.
