The posters that slam Russia’s hosting the 2018 FIFA World Cup have appeared in the Belarusian city of Brest.
In the posters, one can see the official mascot Zabivaka (Goalscorcerer) against the backdrop of the destroyed Donetsk airport and the inscription ‘Russian Zabivaka does not score goals, but kills people in Ukraine and Syria’.
“One could not think out a more ‘expressive’ name for the symbol of the championship in Russia than Zabivaka. It should not be forgotten that this event takes place in a country whose ‘polite zabivakas’ have killed tens of thousands of civilians in Syria and Ukraine and hundreds of Europeans in the downed Boeing only in the last few years,” anonymous protesters who asked not to be named told belsat.eu.
