Yana Novikava becomes first Belarusian actress of the European Film Academy


The Belarusian actress became a member of one of the largest trade unions of cinematographers – European Film Academy.

This is what tut.by learned from the creative team of Plemya shot by Ukrainian director Myroslav Slaboshpytskiy where the 21-year-old from Homiel performed the main role.

Earlier, the ranks of the European Film Academy were joined by representatives of male half of the Belarusian cinema – director Viktor Aslyuk (author of the film Shchastlivyya Lyudzi, Happy People), Viktar Dashuk and Barys Haroshka.

The film Plemya has received 40 awards at international festivals, including three prizes at the Week of Criticism at the Cannes Film Festival and the gold and silver at the XXI International Listapad Film Festival in Minsk.

Yana Novikava played in the film the role of the inmate of the boarding school for children with hearing impairments.
