‘We are working closely’ - Lukashenka to Russia’s Foreign Intelligence head

The intelligence services of Belarus and Russia have established close co-operation ‘to protect the national interests of the both states’, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said when meeting with the director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin.

“You are Head of a very important agency. There is nothing to hide: we are working closely. I keep being informed on all the issues. I am also grateful for the cooperation of our intelligence services. Once again, there is nothing to hide, also they are non-public organizations: we are defending the interests of our states and peoples – as all the special services in any country do,” Lukashenka said.

According to the Belarusian leader, there are certain issues, such as the coordination of activities, the harmonization of cooperation for the protection of national interests.

“Now we do have the opportunity to discuss these problems,” he added.
