Wages below national average in 112 of 118 districts


According to official statistics, the average salary in Belarus reached 718 rubles, which corresponds to $369 at the then exchange rate. These are the figures for May 2016. However, the vast majority of workers in the region earn less. In Belarus, there are 118 districts (+ Minsk as a separate administrative unit), and 112 of them do not reach these figures.

Minsk district – 866 rubles

Polatsk + Navapolatsk district – 757 rubles

Dzyarzhynsky district – 753 rubles

Rechitsa district – 745 rubles

Hrodna district + Hrodna – 729 rubles

Mazyr district – 701 rubles

Recall that in Minsk, the average salary in May amounted to 1,007 rubles.
