'With Lukashenka till the end!' Village dying, but locals glorifying Vozhd in songs (ENG video)

The performers of the love song to combiner-president Lukashenka live in the village where the roads are unfixed and a shop trailer coming from time to time – instead of a shop. But they do believe that due to the Belarusian leader, they have no war, we are living under a peaceful sky.[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A huge popularity in the internet, media attention and an invitation to the public concerts. The Folk Ensemble Krynitsa became famous all over the country thanks to the song about the love to Alyaksandr Lukashenka. Watch an exclusive reportage of Belsat from the village Novyia Milevichy in Zhytkavichy district to find out how this all changed their lives.

“And Lukashenka knows how to do everything, he can reap and plow…”

Previously, it was a regular rustic song about the current head of kolkhoz or the best combiner. People simply put in the desired name. Now women at Novyia Milevichy sing this is exclusively about the former collective farm director and political instructor Alyaksandr Lukashenka.

LIDZIYA MARKEVICH, KRYNITSA BAND:

“We like our president. Thats why we perform it. We like the song and our leader.”

The folk ensemble Krynitsa said they performed the song „Lukashenka is Coming to Us” already 5 years ago, during the previous elections. At the time, the audience laughed at the improvised agitation.

ALENA TARSAN, KRYNITSA BAND:

“The police was here – we were really scared.”

HANNA DUBROUSKAYA, KRYNITSA BAND:

“Being old people, we thought we could get behind bars for that.”

But the women never got in jail for insulting the president. After the song about the combiner Lukashenka became a hit online, it was taken advantage of by the ideological machine.

CONCERT MC:

“They are so true, so sincere.”

Krynitsa was invited to Vitsebsk, the ONT channel gala. In fact, it was done within the election campaign.

“We have seen a lot of presidents, but Lukashenka is the best one in the world…”

They sang before the officials of the executive committees and activists of Belarusian Republican Youth Union and returned home to Zhytkavichy area. And nothing changed there.

NINA LINKEVICH, FORMER MEMBER OF KRYNITSA:

“We need to have the road fixed. After all, we have a very bad road.”

LIDZIYA MARKEVICH, KRYNITSA BAND:

“I travel 4 km to the rehearsal on the bike: in spring, winter and summer. The road we have is not so good.”

The performers of the love song to the president live in the village that the local authorities had openly called unpromising. That’s why they would not fix the road, and instead of a store they have a shop trailer coming from time to time. There is no Internet planned – so watching their song is not an option. It is the way it is, because there is no young people in the Novyia Milevichy.

HANNA MATSUKEVICH, KRYNITSA BAND:

“They leave, because there is nothing to do here. There was a farm, but it was destroyed.”

The secret of the Milevichy style happiness is very simple: they have a TV, where state television tells them how well it is in Belarus, and how bad it is abroad.

HANNA DUBROUSKAYA, KRYNITSA BAND:

“We are fine. We like the President, because we have no war, we are living under a peaceful sky. Our children serve in Belarus, our president does not send them further.”

Here every house is inhabited by no more than one person. This village is dying, but it keeps on glorifying the Vozhd nonetheless.
